Junior was started very loose. I had the colors on my palette for My Sunshine and I had only done a small amount on that one and it needed to dry before I started with another layer. I grabbed this painting and put down the color, just thinking it would be a means of getting started. I used to paint more freely like that when I first switched to oils, many years ago.

I ended up liking the loose strokes and only went back in to tighten up a few places on another day. I used to do all my paintings alla prima, in one setting, before I lost use of my arm. It was hard for me to adjust to working on the larger paintings over time when I was able to start painting again with the mobile arm support.
