As I see people travel to Yellowstone and come back with pictures of these amazing creatures, I’ve longed to paint them. I’ve enjoyed exploring textures for a few years and there are so many textures on a single bison, not all attractive. I put a textured gesso on the canvas before toning the canvas with red paint. I used to let the red background show more and decided to play with that again on this piece.
